My First Cruise Trip to The Bahamas

I recently went on an exhilarating carribean cruise trip with my boyfriend and his family to the beautiful islands of the Bahamas. We chose the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. This was our first cruise trip. The cruise ship we boarded on was called ” Majesty of The Sea”.   I was very happy we chose “Majesty of The Sea”! My family and I did everything we could in just a few short days on 4- and 5 nights getaways that include other favorite destinations like Nassau, Bahamas and CocoCay. My family and I never been anywhere around the Caribbean nor traveled anywhere international. This whole trip has been very memorable and also this has been one of my best vacation ever

Every morning I would try my best to wake up early to watch the sunrise. When I do wake up early, watching the sunrise is the most beautiful thing I ever seen. Sometime I have to pinch myself because Everything I am observing is just a Dream, but all of this is real!! No way!!!

My boyfriend and I explored around the ship. The ship looks so elegant and magnifcant. The atmosphere on the ship was positive and had a uplifting energy. All of the staffs were very friendly and welcoming during our stay. Everyone on the ship from the staffs and to all the tourists seemed so happy to be on this ship.

Things to do on the ship

The Food is always available 24/7!!! Breakfast, Lunch & dinner is provided in the “windbreaker dining hallv from 6:30am until 12:30pm.” Did I mentioned the food is all you can eat buffet!!! They have different type of cuisines every day and night. My family and I ate in this dining hall at least 5 times a day. We normaly pay a visit to the dining hall every time after we finish our activity whether if we finished tanning out by the pool or swimming in the pool.

  • There are two clubs and few other adult lounges for late night events and dance parties.
  • There is a gym and a spa. I wish I had more time because I didn’t have the chance to go check the spa.
  • There is a rock climbing wall and a basketball court.
  • There’s two different theatre room for live comedy shows and other live performers.
  • During the evening, movies are being played on the top deck. I watched Coco and Batman the Dark Knight.
  • There was also a deck reserved specially for kids and teens. And also there were daily activities for younger kids and teens to participate in.

Drinking all day long is a must! My boyfriend and I picked the duluxe beverage package, which include alcohol, juices, smoothies, sodas, and water. Every day my boyfriend and I would have at least five different cocktails and two smoothies.

Try all of the signature drink of the day. The drinks were refreshing and yummy! The peach and mango daquiri were my favorite! I had one every day! My boyfriend and I ordered so many drinks to the point the bartenders starting to know our signature go- to drinks!

I love being outside in the sun! After I come back from my adventures. I would go swimming in the pool or go tanning. I had a mango smoothie in one hand, listening to the music playing from the background, while I soak up the sun. This is an awesome way to have fun in the sun! I am a totally different person when I’m surrounding myself in paradise. All of my stress and worries went away. I tried my best to unplugged myself from reality and just relaxed.

There are always some type of activities going on by the pool. I witnessed a belly flopp contest and wet t-shirt contest. It was the funniest thing ever!

The Fine Dining Experience: My boyfriend, his family and I would go to the Starlight Restaurant most of the nights for dinner.  We all ate 3 course meals, which include an appetizer, a main signature entire, and a desserts. All of the cuisines were delicious and delightful! The best part is we could order more if we want to!!! Our waiter, Nicholas was very knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. He shared some of his personal stories with us. Nicholas made sure my family and I have the best dinner experience as possible. He also made sure he treated us like his own family. He gave a lot of recommendations on different type of appetizers, entire options, and wine suggestions that we should tried. We were satisfied we listened to Nichola’s suggestions. We walked out the restaurant every time feeling overly stuffed and happy!

Nassau, Bahamas “Blue Lagoon Isand”

My boyfriend and his family and I visited Nassau, Bahamas and Coco Cay. We went to a private island in Nassau called ” Blue Lagoon Island.” The Blue Lagoon Island is located 5 Km from Nassau, Bahamas and serves as a loal tourist attraction. This private island is now provides secluded beaches for visitors and natural habitats for the dolphins and sea lions of Dolpins Encounters.  In order for us to get to Blue Lagoon we took a ferry. The ride took about 20 minutes to get to the island. The captain was also very entertaining, he was singing and dancing on the ferry. We passed Huge celebrities homes of Oprah Winfrey, Michael Jordan, Tiger Woods, Beyonce, and etc and it makes me wonder how often these celebrities actually use their homes.

The water in and around Nassau is gorgeous and offers a multiple spectrum of blue, teal and turquoise. Once we landed on this island, on the left side of the island where there seems to be an endless number of beach chairs in a vert shallow lagoon type area. On the right side of the island, there are somewhat private VIP beach with cabanas, comfy lounge chairs, hammocks, a bar and an area where you can get a buffet lunch.

We walked across a wooden bridge and we saw an area where there is a dolpin enclosure, a stingray enclosure, and a seal lion enclosure. We all chose different enclosures. My boyfriend and I picked the dolphin enclosures. We wanted to interact with dolphins!

I can definitely cross off swimming with dolphins from my bucket list! These dolphins are playful and friendly. My boyfriend and I met Shawn the Dolphin. Shawn was adorable and vert intelligent. He also has a uplifting personality and a loving spirit! Shawn could dance and performed amazing tricks. I swear this loving dolphin and I sweared a moment together. Shawn also photo-bomed us and stole a kiss in one of our picture.

Senor Frog’s – Nassau, Bahamas

After our little adventure with connecting with dolphins, my boyfriend and I decided to go explore the city of Nassau. We got very hungry, so we found this cool Mexican themed restaurant and bar, called Senor Frog’s. We heard this spot is a popular area for hanging out, dancing, singing, and basically act the way they want without worrying about silly rules and regulations.
We ordered the conch fritters, chip and salsa, and pasta! We also ordered their infamous margarita drink too! We enjoyed watching the beautiful scenery around us.

Coco Cay Island

We visited another private island called Coco Cay, Bahamas or Little Stirrup Cay. It is used exclusively for tourism by Royal Caribbean Cruises Line. Coco Cay is one of the Berry Islands, a collection of cays and small islands and is located approximately 55 miles north of Nassau. Technically, we can not walk to the island directly from our cruise ship. To go ashore, we had to take a tender boat. Tenders are small boats used by the cruise lune for transportation when a ship is unable to dock. The ride over to the island is only 15 minutes. starting in June 2018, ships will be able to dock at the new pier being built, so tendering will be no longer needed after June 2018.

It was an amazing experience for my family and I.  The water was warm and the people were very friendly. It is a beautiful island surrounding by crystal clear and the most bluest water I ever had seen. My family and I rented our own private cabana. It was amazing! We had all sort of amenities, such as complementary shuttle transfer, lounge chairs, floating bar, beach beds, drink specials, and complementary lunch.  I absolutely love Royal Carribean and I love their private island.

I witnessed some of the most beautiful sceneries that mother nature has ever created. I swam in the most clearest and bluest body of water. I can’t believe I could see my feet in the water!

I had so much fun on “Majesty of the Sea.” Since this was my first cruise trip I would rate this ship as an 8. There were a few minors things I would change. I would love to plan another cruise trip again with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line! This whole trip has been very memorable and also this has been one of my best vacation ever! Can’t wait to plan another one soon!!

I hope you enjoy reading my first travel guide post!! xoxo

Say Hello to My New Car, Lucy!

img_3480

Hi everyone!! I know it’s been a while since I wrote my last post. I had a great running start going towards the new year. I bought myself a new car! Finally!!! I decided to purchase a brand new 2018 Subaru Crosstrek Limited with Moonroof and Navigation system at the Bertera Subaru of Hartford in Connecticut. This is a new chapter of my life. I’m planning to go on road trips and more adventures with my brand new baby! I’m slowly adjusting to the “adulthood”. I’m at the stage in my life where I can afford to buy a new car for myself.  I made a few sacrifices along the way and also rearranged my priorities to reassure myself that I could afford a brand new car. This is my first step in being financially independent! 🙂

Shopping for a new car was not easy. It was very confusing. Of course, I didn’t do all of this alone, my boyfriend and my family helped me throughout this process.  I created a list of three or four cars that met my needs and fell within my budget. I compared a 2018 Toyota Rav4,  a 2017 Honda CRV, and a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. I did a lot of due diligence and research on those car models. By doing this due diligence, this helped my sister and I tremendously during the negotiation process. We went to four different dealerships. We developed a concrete plan in which made it easy for us to get an awesome deal.

Finally, after test driving all the different car models and after doing all of the research,  I knew which car was perfect for me! And I picked the 2018 Subaru Crosstrek Limited with Moonroof and Navigation System. I called this car, Lucy! And yes she is a girl! Isn’t she stunning!

The first time I laid my eyes on Lucy, I fell in love with her exterior features. She looks so sporty and chic! She is ready to go on adventures with me! This car can drive in any weather condition because this is “ALL-WHEEL DRIVE”! I have a slight fear of tight corner spaces, therefore this car model size is the ideal size for me. This car is a mix between of an SUV and a regular sedan vehicle. It is a crossover.  It has enough room and space for me to feel comfortable when I’m driving. This car has a lot of personalities filled with elevated exterior and interior features. There is a navigation system, blind spot sensors, and emergency communication system, blue-tooth for wireless phone connectivity, heated seats for the harsh winter climates, power moonroof, Harmon Kardon entertainment system, and a backup camera. And the best part is this car has a remote starter!!! This is a huge lifesaver for me because I can survive during the winter now….especially when I live in Connecticut!! The winter came be horrible over here! The car drives very smooth. The navigation system and entertainment features are simple to navigate through. I cannot find anything negative to talk about my new baby! I’m so obsessed!

I’m happy I bought my car at Bertera Subaru of Hartford in Hartford, CT. My salesperson name was Rich. He deserves a special shout out as well!! He did a terrific job finding me the perfect car for me!  His managers and supervisors were welcoming and entertaining. I would say he went above and beyond to take care of me. He even gave me free weather mats for my car! Rich did listen and answered all of my questions and my concerns. I’m glad to be a part of the Bertera Subaru Family! To anyone who is shopping for a new or pre-owned Subaru, you should definitely come down to Bertera Subaru of Hartford!

Here are my best tips and resources for buying a car:

  1. How much can you afford? A rule of thumb: If you’re planning to take out a loan to pay for your car, your car payment shouldn’t be more than 20% of your paycheck. If you have a tight budget, you may want to spend even less… Perhaps check out used or pre-owned cars.  Keep it in mind used cars will need a little extra attention from time to time: may need to change new tires and maintenance. Also, don’t forget to factor in fuel and insurance when researching to buying a car.
  2. Build a target list of used car and new cars- I suggest making a list of three or four cars that meet your needs and fall within your budget. For example, I compared, Toyota, Hondas, and Subaru.
  3. Check car prices- prices are driven by part by where you’re shopping. You’ll find used cars in used-cars sections of new-car dealerships, independent used-car lots, used-car retailers such as Carmax and websites where private-party sellers list their cars. You’ll find new cars on dealership’s website where they will list all of the inventory for new cars.
  4. Check the vehicle history report. This is an important step. If the car you’re looking at has a bad history report, the sooner you know the better. Autocheck and Carfax are the best-known sources for vehicle history reports.
  5. Kelley Blue Book – This is a great site to look for expert car reviews, new and used car price values, car incentive programs, and etc.
  6. Truecar  – This is an easy resource to research on all of the car prices and car inventory in your area or any location and also this site can show you savings on both new & used cars.
  7. Once you find a good perspective car, do not run out to see it. Contact a salesperson or the seller first. This is a good way to establish a relationship with the seller and verify the information about the car. Make sure you put together a list of questionnaires for the seller to answer. It’s better to wait to ask about the price of the car. Once you see the car, you can tie your offer to its condition.
  8. Test-drive the car – the best way to know if this is the right car and model for you. It’s also a good way to assess this car’s current conditions. Look out for any distractions and focus on the car.
  9. Have the car inspected- if you like the car, consider having it inspected by a mechanic before you buy the car.
  10. Negotiate a good deal- Negotiating doesn’t have to be a planned out and traumatic experience. If you are reasonable and have a plan, chances are you can make a deal pretty quickly and easily.
  11. Get all of the paperwork and registeration done!

I’m extremely happy about my decision. I can’t wait to make more life decision. I like being an adult!

Farewell 2017: New Year, New Me

I can’t believe 2017 is over! 2017 has been an emotional roller coaster ride. There were many ups and downs. I couldn’t tell you guys how many times I tried to figure out what I want to do with my life and who I want to be. I felt emotionally exhausted from soul-searching. There were lessons learned. I know I do not want to repeat the similar mistakes again. I noticed some friendships grew and some friendship faded. I decided to cut some people off out of my life who I felt were not important to me or relevant.  They showed me their true colors when I needed them. I’ve acknowledge some people were not meant to be in my life forever, however I appreciated every person who came into my life. Every person has brought me a life lesson. 2017 was also about making big decisions. I have figured out what’s important me and learned how vital my future can be for me. I finally know what I want! I will fight for what I want!

I was able find peace with myself after being depressed for about two years. There were a few moments in my life where I had suicidal thoughts. It was scary to admit, however it’s a great thing I never harm myself in anyway. I was able to pull away from my miserable self. I thought I lost myself,  but I never did. I’ve fought through all the drastic changes in my life, which helped shaped me to become the person who I am destine to be.  I was terrified about how my life will never be same again. I know I can be my own worse enemy, which I’ve acknowledge one of my biggest weakness is being a perfectionist. I’m aware that I am human and my life will never be perfect. No matter how much I want it to be!  I can always try my best in whatever I set my mind into. The year of 2018, I’ll continue to enjoy living my life to the fullest. I can do whatever I want since I don’t have a family or children.

In 2017, I’ve grown to be comfortable of being alone. Sometime I don’t need to have company to have fun. I love spending personal time with me, myself and I. Sometime I rather be at home and binged watch on Netflix in my bed whenever I could. I’ve also learn how important self love can impact on my life. In order for me to find internal love and happiness, I have to start taking care of myself first. I am proud for overcoming my struggles. I can see I have became an mature adult. I’ve transformed into a beautiful flower. I am no longer shy or insecure about myself.  I am strong, confident, and beautiful. I know what I want!

2018 will be the year for me. I can feel it! I can’t wait for what the year will bring me! I will never stop learning and improving myself on a daily basis. I will continue finding new ways to appreciate and love myself. I’m looking forward for new opportunities heading toward my direction. I will not give up on what I have. And I will not give up on myself! I will fight, fight, fight!

My New Year Resolutions:

  1. Take better care of myself: both physically and mentally
  2. Focus on what is important to me
  3. Appreciate the little things in my life
  4. Do more, take more initiatives
  5. Connect and network with new bloggers, influencers & artists
  6. Focus on building my brand by working on more collaborations.
  7. Get out of my shell: Don’t be afraid of feeling uncomfortable
  8. Find more ways to make more money
  9. Travel more, try out new things
  10. Have fun and enjoy my life

My friend Jacob and I decided to do a fun collaboration a few months ago. We put together a beautiful Fall photoshoot. Jacob did an awesome job creating the short video clip from the photoshoot. The video is posted below. Jacob is very talented at what he does. He is a great photographer and videopgrapher. I always enjoy working with Jacob. All of the pictures came out beautiful. He was able to captured a different side of me, which I never noticed before. It is an incredible feeling to feel care-free and happy again. It is refreshing for me to feel this way!  It is pretty awesome how Jacob was able to capture the feelings I’ve had that day.

This video represent maturity, self love and moving forward with my life. I hope you all can relate to my stories in some ways. I hope you guys enjoy watching this short clip.

My Inner Circle

I’ve been doing a lot of soul-searching and focusing on what is important to me. I also noticed that my relationships with my friends has changed. Of course I have different groups of friends. I noticed either some of us had grown apart or maybe we don’t share the same level of interests or hobbies anymore. I am also surprised some of my closest relationships that I had since my childhood also faded away. I know some of you guys may think I have a lot of friends in my life, but to be frank I don’t. I have to admit it hurts sometimes….. I tend to be get emotional when I loose a friend.

It is hard for me to maintain my female friendships, especially in my 20s. This is the time of my life where I want to share my experiences, my success, my journeys with my friends. Trust is also very important to me and I find it challenging for me to trust anyone around me. Sometimes I feel lonely. I like to be invited to social gatherings and special occasions even if I don’t show up or I couldn’t attend at least someone was thinking about me. I hate being left out from a social gathering or from a group. And It’s not a great feeling either.

I don’t know if any of you ladies can relate to me, but let me ask you all this. How important does friendships means to you? Let me be specific, how important is your female friendships? Ask yourself these questions….Who do you think are your true friends? Are your so-call “friends ” reliable? Do you have a friend that you can trust to keep your darkest secrets? Who do consider is your best friend? When was the last time you asked yourself, why did some of my friendships fizzled or dissolved away?

It is frustrating to me. Sometimes I never had a clear explanation why things ended a certain way. I do understand we all are busy with our separate lives. Majority of us have full-time jobs and have other responsibilities to prioritize. Some of us have boyfriends and girlfriends that we want to focus on, but it also important to focus on your friends to make sure we continue to stay connected whenever we need each other or want to see each other.

I tend to ask myself, did I do something wrong? or Did I say something wrong to make them not want talk to me? I have to put on a fake face pretend everything is okay, which I really hate! The last thing I don’t like being called is being two face. I’m not trying to point any fingers or targeting anyone. I understand certain friendships aren’t meant to last forever. I learned over the last few years, a few of my friends changed. They finally showed me their true colors of themselves. Some of those changes I didn’t like or understand which results our friendships to fade away. I’ve already tried to do my part to mend my relationships and even tried to stay connected. I’m getting frustrated of being the only person reaching out. Come on! It’s not a one way street here! I’m over everything honestly…

In a week I will be turning 26 and I decided to turn a new leaf in my life. I decided to let go all of the negativity I’ve experienced with with myself in the last year. I’m going to cherish and appreciate all of the friendships I’ve developed whether my friends are from work, from school or etc… and also I will pay attention to the people who are in here for me and want to be around me. I believe there is a reason for every person who walked into my life and each person carried a learning lesson. What I need right now is to surround myself with positive and encouraging people that will push me to reach my goals and dreams. I’m not forcing anyone to be my friend, if anyone feel they are being forced to be my friend then you all can leave because I don’t have room for any negativity nor dramas in my life! The last thing I want to do is set expectations on friends, and if they don’t meet those expectations then I will get disappointed. I don’t need anymore stress in my life to worry about. I’m done. Whatever is done! I don’t anyone to waste my time or energy!!!

New Changes in my life! Plus I got promoted!

Hello everyone!

Fall is finally here! It’s the seasons of layering.  I’m sorry I haven’t been posting as much lately. I’ve been super busy. I have experienced many changes in my life within the last two months. My sister got engaged and I got promoted!

My sister recently got engaged! I am so happy for my sister and my brother-in-law  to be. I’ve been helping them plan their wedding. And don’t worry I’ll definitely  write posts later on this year about all the wedding details and planning from venues, color schemes, the food tasting, all of the DIY projects, and etc.

Another recent change that had occurred was I got promoted . In the last two weeks I’ve been adjusting into my new role as  an assistant manager at work. I am the new assistant manager for the Individualist, Via.C, & Encore department ( women’s apparels) at Nordstrom Westfarms in Connecticut.

I was a regular salesperson in the Men’s department. There wasn’t any growth opportunity for me to move up.  Everything seemed simple. The responsibilities and tasks were pretty easy to juggle with. I desperately needed change! I wanted to challenge myself to take on more responsibilities.

I’m looking forward to be working in women’s apparels! I’m very excited! It will be a whole new world for me since I’ll be working with more women. Which I don’t mind it at all, I love a great challenging experience! I believe I will be a good leade and role model for my team. I just have to remember to be good to myself 😊.
