Must Have Item for This Spring: Jean jacket

For this Spring, every girl should have a jean jacket in their closet. Why? A jean jacket is a perfect item to pair up with any outfits for any type of occasions! From formal occasions to casual occasions.

For example: If I’m going to a bridal shower or baby shower, I could  wear a jean jacket with a cute, flowy bohemian dress. Or even a Maxi Dress!

Another example:  If I’m going out with my friends to the bar or a club and I want to be comfortable and simple, I could wear a jean jacket with a pair of ripped up boyfriends jeans, a classic white boyfriend tee, a sexy  lace bralette and a pair of black caged heels. Or sneakers!

For example: If I’m having a busy day and I need to run errands around town. I would want to dress sporty and casual. I can wear my jean jackets with black skinny jeans and sneakers.

I hope you guys enjoy this styling tip!!

New Hairstyle: I called this “The Reverse Oxford”

My hairstylist, Danielle, from Novell Salon and I did some hair dying experiment with my hair. We were trying to figure how we can fix my hair situation . What happened was the last time I dyed my hair by myself, the color I used did not come right! This never happen to me before. My hair was a hot mess! The top my head and roots was burgundy/brown and the rest of my hair was black!

I thought I ruined my hair, but thank god I found Danielle. She was able to work her magic and made my hair beautiful again! Her method was brilliant. She called this coloring technique “the Reverse Oxford”. Basically like a reversed ombré coloring style. Instead of transforming my hair from dark to light, we transformed my hair from light to dark.

So, Danielle had to match the same color I had on my roots by adding different shades of highlights through out my hair. This technique has never down or seen before.

This is a funny story, the name of the coloring style, “the Reverse Oxford” was inspired by my shoes. I was wearing a pair of oxford flats on that same day. Danielle also trimmed my hair to give more volume and depth to my hair.

Danielle did an amazing job! I was obsessed with my new hair and love love love the color !

Here is a video of my hair transformation:

Feeling Funky Today!!!

Today, I decided to pull out my black spiked sneaker wedges from Aldo. I haven’t worn these pairs in years! At first it was hard for me to put together an outfit because I was being indecisive with my style choices. I couldn’t set my mind up! I literally sat on my bed for half an hour , staring blank at my closet.. Finally! I decided what I want to wear for work today. To paired up my spiked wedges,  I picked up a casual black midi skirt from Forever21, a light grey sweater sleeves crop top from H&M, and my favorite black and red plaid shirt.

For my makeup choices for today, I decided to go light on the makeup then accentuate my lips with  a pop of color and darken my eyebrows. I used Luxe Lip color from Bobbi Brown and the lip color was called “Parisian Red”.

I was definitely feeling funky today. And since it is Friday.. why not have FUN! I hope you guys like my outfit inspiration!

Hello Everyone!!!! I’m BACKKKK!!!!

I know I know It has been a while since a wrote my latest post. I have to be honest I had a couple of step backs and also was going through some personal thing over the last year, which is why I haven’t been inspired to write. Don’t worry I am back now, since today is Chinese and Vietnamese New Year, why not start over? I want to move forward with my life and  start over with a fresh clean plate. My goal for this year is to discover and create new memories & adventures and find more muses and inspirations to write about.

I decided to do a collaboration with a good friend of mine, Kahlil Martinez. He is a terrific photographer. I’m always amazed and inspired by his work and talent.  We decided to set up a quick photo shoot something fashion based to overlap with my blog site. So we decided to do a city shoot in Downtown Hartford around Pratt street and City Hall. The inspirations behind the shoot was to take place somewhere outside in the city, in a urban setting and for my part was to pick out a few of outfits and style to showcase something relating to the “beginning of the winter season for fashion trend”. We wanted to stay with a solid theme so that I can write a few blogs about this shoot.

I live in the Northeast and  sometime it can be difficult for me to find outfits to wear without freezing my butt when I walk outside in the freezing air and snow. There was a point of time where I used to get tired of seeing other girls wear tight-fitting crop tops and tight pencil skirts with slits. I want to show other fashion divas that there are other outfit options to look chic and sexy instead of wearing tight and revealing crop tops and pencil skirts with slits. So I decided to selected a couple of outfits to show ways how to make comfy and loose clothing can look chic and sexy for a perfect outfit of the day look. I want to give the idea that I can look fashionable or trendy without having to put a lot of thoughts and efforts because we were shooting around Hartford and the shoot fits with the theme. So I picked out a pair of my light-washed destroyed boyfriend jeans, my must have leopard faux fur vest, a white over-sized sweater, my boyfriend flannel button up, and a pair of my black suede zipped up booties. I decided to paired my red envelope clutch and neon clutch with my outfits and accessories with my gold bracelets and necklace and my gold Michael Kors watch.

Hope you guys enjoy my photos! For more information or consultation/bookings with Kahlil Martinez, visit at or 860-490-7065 or follow him on Instagram @kahlilmartinez

Seoul BBQ & Sushi Cuisine – New Britain, CT

seoul bbq

Yesterday I went out to dinner with my sister and her co-workers at Seoul BBQ & Sushi. We were craving for Korean barbecue. This is one of my favorite restaurants, hands down! SeouI BBq & Sushi offers some of the most authentic, mouthwatering, and one of a kind Korean dishes and sushi in all of Connecticut. This  place is clean and has nice interior designs. It was very comfortable because its very spacious. We can reserve private rooms, good for parties. My first experience eating Korean barbecue was at this particular spot. Seoul BBQ & Sushi is the winner of “2014 Best Korean Restaurants according to Hartford Courant. in  I thought this place was heaven to me!

We had a party of 6.  The restaurant pretty busy, so we made reservations. We were seated pretty quickly. They have a pretty big menu that can be a little overwhelming with all the authentic Korean food especially if you’ve never had it before.

BBQ combination

Bulgogi (Thin Slices of Beef Marinated with Special House Soy Sauce)

GALBI JUMULLUCK (Boneless Beef Short Ribs Marinated with Special House Soy Sauce)

pork belly

SAM-GYUP-SAL (Thin slices of pork belly without Marination Served with Salt & Sesame Oil Sauce on the Side)

We ordered the BBQ combination B. This combo is suppose to serve 4 people but it was definitely enough for the Six of us. We had the combination A + galbi (marinated beef short ribs), bulgogi (marinated thin slices of beef), and Sam-gyup-sal (thin slices of pork belly without marinade). This combino came with a variety of 14 different small plates, spicy tofu soup, steamed egg casserole, an egg pancake, and 4 small bowls of rice. We had to order 2 more bowls of rice because they wasn’t enough for everyone. The small dishes were very tasty even and I seemed to enjoy of the small side dishes . We to order more side dishes when we ran out. The grill is right in front of you on your table and when they bring the meat over they throw some on for you to start you off and then they leave you to finish grilling the meat. The meat does cook fairly quick on the hot grill especially the thinner meats so keep an eye on it! They also give you two different sauces to try with the meats. Nom Nom delicious!

Seoul BB & Sushi also offers Sushi and sashimi, but I didn’t order sushi. We had plenty to eat! I swear I had a food coma after eating here.

They don’t have desserts. But the waiters brought us over six cups of Korean juice, which tasted like sugar cane juice and rice in them. The juice wasn’t too bad and was actually quite refreshing.

The waiters and staffs were great, very accommodating, and kept coming back to make sure we didn’t need anything else. They were all so cheerful too which was nice to see it really added to the experience in my opinion. I would totally recommend everyone to go!

This restaurant can be pricey because there will be a 18% gratuity rate for groups of 6 or more into the bill. Remember to spent and eat wisely!
