4 Ways to Style a Bodysuit
Hello everyone!! It’s been wayyy too long since I posted anything new on my page. I’ve been hiding under a rock for some time. I’ve battling with anxiety and mental health issues, so I needed to get away in order to take better care of myself. Also with Covid-19, it created a lot of disturbance in my life where I had to re-adjust and rethink about my life and my career plans.
I’ve been doing some soul-searching and self-healing. I was too wrapped up in my own head trying to be a perfectionist. I wanted to accomplish more and more, yet I felt I wasn’t doing enough in my life. Honestly, I felt drained and burnt out. I didn’t want to live a life feeling ashamed or sorry for myself. I recognized it was time for me to take control of my life. I discovered there were two missing keys in my life, which was self-care and mental health. These two keys has taught me how to live a balanced lifestyle. So I found new ways to help me maintain my anxiety level and improve my mental health through doing daily meditation, cooking, gardening/planting, and putting outfits together. If you guys have any other self-care recommendations that works for you, I would love to hear it!
By practicing self-care and doing these activities has reduced my anxiety and brought back positive energy into my life! I feel much happier. Self-care has helped me identify what my needs are and my inner self. This made me realized I need to be a little more patient with myself because every day is a working progress. And it is never too late to become the person you’ve always wanted to be while still being you.
Fashion and style has been my “cure, my type of therapy. Whenever I talk or do anything related to fashion or style, I experienced this cosmic burst of energy running through my veins. It feels liberating and I feel alive. So, I would like to start a clean slate and write something upbeat and positive! So why not some style tips.
Here are 4 Ways to Style a Bodysuit
Every lady needs a simple white or black bodysuit in their closet! Bodysuits are amazing. They feel super supportive and comfortable. Bodysuits are great for layering underneath other pieces and painless to style.
Back in July, I was scanning through my closet to see if I could style an outfit with my simple white bodysuit. There were many combinations and options generated in my head, in the end I narrowed down to 4 different outfits. I know we are half way through Summer, but I am going to walk you through my thought process in creating outfits to make the bodysuit more versatile.
Look#1: A pair of patterned or floral print shorts + a bodysuit + a trendy wicker crossbody bag + tan strappy sandals
I remember when I put together this outfit. This bodysuit was just delivered in the mail and I couldn’t wait to wear it! It was a hot Summer day and it was humid and muggy out. Also it was the 4th of July, so I wanted to wear loose shorts that won’t cling onto my legs. So I picked out this pair of flowy navy plaid hem shorts with ruffle detailing.
This is an adorable and trendy summer outfit for a casual day. Great outfit to wear to a family barbecue or a picnic! Another style tip for shorts, pick out a pair of high-waisted shorts! High-waisted shorts will give the illusion that you have longer legs. If you have curvy hips, I recommend wearing belted shorts. These belted shorts will look so flattering on you.

Here are some examples:
Look#2: A pair of high-waisted jeans + a bodysuit + cheetah print slip-on sneakers + a pair of hoop earrings
On this day, I got invited to come to a brewery and this was last minute. I had to pick out something quick and simple. I put my wet hair into a bun, threw on my bodysuit and a pair of dark washed high-raised jeans. By adding the slip-on sneakers and hoop earrings, these pieces made my outfit look more fun and effortless.
This outfit is an example of how you can turn an understated outfit into an effortless, yet cool look by adding funky accessories into your wardrobe! Just have fun with it and don’t be afraid to show off your personality.
Look #3: A pair of paper inspired Mom jeans + bodysuit + a pair of block heels
I would wear this outfit for a girls night out in a heartbeat. This outfit is edgy and cool. I know it has a lot of personality into one look. The whole point of this look is show off my artistic and creative side. I like to think the pieces of clothing and outfits as art because this is how I like to express myself. I want to feel empowered, just like I’m walking off from the fashion runway.
So whenever I wear a tight fitted bodysuit or top sometime I like to group it with a loose or flowy bottom like these Mom jeans above. I also love adding bright color shoes into my outfits to create a statement. I can definitely eat as much as I can, dance and do whatever I want while wearing this outfit.
My advice to you: When you are picking out your entire outfit, it is okay to occasionally step outside the box. Even though it may seem too risky or adventurous, you will never know how you would feel, or the impression you will make on others, until you take that leap of faith. Switch it up!
Look #4: A satin silk skirt + a bodysuit + a pair of wedges + fun bamboo handbag
Now this is my favorite look! I would wear this outfit to a special occasion like a wedding or an anniversary. The vibrant pink satin midi skirt and these wooden black wedges made this bodysuit look fashionable and chic!
If you are looking for a casual wedding/brunch type of outfit, even though these events aren’t happening as often now, this will be a good option. I suggest pairing the bodysuit with a floral print or colorful patterned skirt. You could also add accessories like long dangle earrings and a statement necklace to complete the entire wardrobe.
I really enjoyed writing this post. I hope by sharing some of my styling tips about bodysuits, this will make it easier for you pick out your own outfits. Also, you should remember to not be afraid to switch it up and have fun! If you guys have any styling or fashion topics you would like me to talk about, let me know 🙂
